Smart Phones!

   ~~~
(From my FB page)
My kids all have these types of 'smart phones.'
They suggest that C. and I need them, too!
We really don't, though!
I only have need of a cell phone about one day a week when I go out shopping...to call home and make sure C. is availa
ble to help me unload the groceries when I get home!
:) I have a cheap cell phone that has no idea how to do all those 'smart' things my kids show me that their phones can do!
...As for other communications...everyone I know now-or have EVER known- can be found on Face Book...OR I can just walk next door and say 'hi' to my neighbors! :)
I DO think we have gone a little wild in these modern times with the things that we've grown to consider our necessities in our lives!
You might think this is a contradiction, since...here I am on a computer, after all...But you don't know how LONG I did resist getting a computer!! (a LONG time!!!)
BESIDES-I can't afford a 'Smart' phone! :)
My husband, the COMIC… (a re-run)
~
~~ A Blast From The Past~~
My husband, the COMIC…
1968
My husband has resisted the world of computers!
 (resisted - resented- relentlessly!! HIS 3 Rs))
However, he has,
in spite of all, picked up some computer speak…so he ain’t fooling me a bit with this show of total ‘unawareness’ of the term - ‘BLOG!’
In my excitement over the fun I’m having with MY OWN BLOG I recently asked him,
“Charles, if you had a BLOG, what would you put on it?”
 Without a moments hesitation he came back with …
“Watkin’s salve!” “But I don’t need any - I’m Healthy!”
…insinuating he didn’t understand my question… didn’t understand what I meant by BLOG…pretending he thought I meant some skin blemish or some such thing!!
Luckily, I have a good sense of humor or I might read more into this...
 “But I don’t need any - I’m healthy!”
Note:
Watkin's salve is product that has been around for many years-used to treat skin problems and wounds!
More on that plant...
LOL...And I feel stupid!
When C. brought that plant in for me to see we both felt a familiarity to it...It was kinda weird because neither of us could capture our memories/knowledge for this plant..but we both felt we had seen it before-also the smell of the leaves seemed familiar to us.
One of my readers  left a comment letting me know the name she knows it by.
Art Horses
This week
Carletta, of 'Round the Bend,' posted and blogged about a very neat painted art horse she had seen on her travels.
LOL- Seems Carletta and I are often on the *same track* with our blogging- as we often find the same things to photograph and show and talk about.
We both, do indeed, take a lot of pictures of a lot of different things! :)
Anyway- Carletta's horse blog brought our own 'Horse Fever' project back to mind for me. Here in Ocala our horses were created by local artists and eventually, sold at auction.
I wrote about it here!
Here are a few more that might not have been shown in my earlier blogs about these horses.
